Onze toezichthouder, de National Authority for Containment (NAC), heeft Bilthoven Biologicals op 29 april jongstleden laten weten dat er bij een reguliere periodieke rioolwatersurveillance door het RIVM op 21 april sporen van poliovirusmateriaal zouden zijn aangetroffen. Nader onderzoek heeft duidelijk gemaakt dat het hierbij gaat om virusmateriaal dat wordt gebruikt voor zogeheten Orale Polio Vaccins (OPV).
